Smile Together is once again delighted to be part of #EODay run by the Employee Ownership Association (EOA). Especially as this year it’s EOA’s 40th anniversary and their special anniversary appeal is to give a healthy smile: https://employeeownership.co.uk/the-eoa-is-40/give-a-healthy-smile/
This appeal is being run in partnership with our good friends Community Dental Services in the East of England to address preventable tooth decay.  Many of us across the UK are working hard on this important public health issue and Brighter Smiles is our oral health campaign, making a difference to thousands of children thanks to our generous supporters.
#EODay is the national celebration of employee ownership and a major opportunity to raise awareness of the economic benefits and positive impact the sector has on the UK economy.
Smile Together became an employee-owned social enterprise in 2016 to give our talented and committed employees, as shareholders, a genuine voice in the business and its future development. We’ve positively thrived together in this environment, delivering dentistry with social impact and generating surplus funds to invest into creating healthier happier communities across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
We are really proud to be celebrating our third successful year as an employee-owned community interest company, alongside others in the sector. Our proactive Staff Council of elected representatives has gone from strength to strength and together we have achieved more than we could have imagined, going further into our communities to help those who need us most.
Not only have we had fun celebrating EOA Day 2019 but we’ve created a short film highlighting some of our achievements over the last year as an employee-owned social enterprise:
