Smile Together Dental Director Jonathan Bouwer-Davies has been appointed Chair of the first Urgent Care Managed Clinical Network (MCN) in the South West.
This is the latest in a series of key appointments in the region and represents another vital part of the region’s Dental Reform Programme – the Urgent Care MCN joining six other MCNs in the region for: Orthodontic, Oral Surgery, Paediatric Dentistry, Restorative, Secure Settings and Special Care.
As Dental Director Jonathan has ultimate responsibility for clinical team leadership across all aspects of our business, from our most complex special care community provision to emergency care and private dentistry. He is also a Director on the Smile Together Board and says of his appointment: “At a strategic clinical level I lead the development of our dental services across the whole care pathway to ensure we continue to deliver the highest standards of clinical care and an excellent patient experience whilst meeting contractual and quality targets. I am responsible for ensuring compliance with national regulations and keeping us at the forefront of changes within the national dental landscape and am deeply involved in clinical service improvement across our employee-owned social enterprise”.
He continues: “I am thrilled to be appointed and look forward to reviewing the current urgent dental care pathway with my peers. Together it’s about developing a best practice region-wide approach, working with commissioners, stakeholders, employees and the public to deliver a more integrated, improved dental clinical urgent care pathway”.
